Spring is here and the kids are just about to be on Spring break! When I think of spring break, I think of taking a step back from the crazy schedules and taking the opportunity to find some balance.

I always make sure I have some fun activities planned for the kids, some relaxation and also time for some deep cleaning. As mentioned in previous blogs, I function better when my home is clean. Having this Spring Cleaning Guide has been a game changer for me!
With the crazy schedules happening all the time, it is merely impossible to deep clean all the time, so a majority of the time, I am happy with the home just being tidy, and then of course I designate specific days of the month for deep cleaning.
With a little extra time during spring break, most people will take the opportunity to do a deep dive and thoroughly clean their house room by room. This is something that I have done for years and it feels so good every time. The weather is getting warmer, the house is clean and the air smells fresh!
I have put together a Spring Cleaning Guide for you to follow to make your life easier. I will also have a printable Spring Cleaning Guide available to all of you who subscribe to my blog!
Kitchen
- Organize your Tupperware-Just a hint, you do not need 50 Tupperware containers. Think about how many you currently keep in your refrigerator and only store those and maybe a few others. You will never need 50 containers unless you are a serious meal prepper, which in that case they will be in your refrigerator and not your cupboard!
- Throw away anything that is expired-Go through your refrigerator, your cupboards, your medicine cabinet, pantry or anywhere else that you store goods.
- Clean your appliances-Wipe down (inside and out) your refrigerator, oven and stove. I also clean out my sink with Comet to rid any food that may have stuck to the sink walls.
- Organize your cabinets-Get rid of/donate anything you are not using. Try to maximize the space by only storing what you use and maybe a couple extras. You do not need 15 water bottles, or 300 plastic bags 😊.
- Wipe Down counter tops, tables, chairs, cabinets, doors, handles etc.

Oh my goodness, Patty, this is such a comprehensive list! I literally want to go step-by-step with this post. I just pinned it so I can get started on my Spring Cleaning this coming week. Can you recommend a mop for me? My kitchen and laundry room has tile and I have a difficult time getting the grout cleaned out well. The rest of my home is hardwood. I’ve been using a Swiffer mop, but it’s just like it’s not getting as clean as I’d like it, no matter how well I scrub it.

Hi Ashley! Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed this list. I absolutely LOVE my Bona mop. You can buy different Bona cleaning solutions for hardwood or tile, but the mop is the same mop! When the cleaning pad gets dirty, you just throw it in the wash! No need to buy refillable pads. Check it out! https://amzn.to/3dETIkz.
