This year, for my daughter’s 3rd birthday, she wanted to do a Moana themed party. Planning this party was fun and easy because you can get away with really any Hawaiian themed party décor. Since Moana is very popular right now, it was not hard to find party decor specific to this theme. If you are looking to host a Moana Birthday Party, look no further!

As mentioned in previous blogs, the very first thing you need to do when planning any party, is figure out your guest list. Once you have a guest list, you need to determine where you are having the party, what time you want to have it, and the date it will be. Next, create the invitations! Once the invitations are sent out, it is time to start the fun part!
As with any party, no matter where it is, there are always common elements that need to be included. The main elements include; decorated party tables, a dessert table, favors, a happy birthday banner, balloons and of course, food and drink. Tables
The first thing you need to do is figure out how many people are coming and how many tables you need. Once you have that established you will need to purchase some tablecloths. For this party, we had three 6-foot rectangular tables that I needed to decorate. Starting with the tablecloths, I purchased these Moana tablecloths from Amazon. I purchased 5 total because I also placed one on the dessert table and one on the favor table as well. In addition, I purchased this Moana party pack which includes a tablecloth as well as cups, plates and napkins.
I thought it would be fun to add netting as a table runner to place the coconut cup centerpieces on.
For the centerpieces, I purchased these coconuts cups. They were a perfect base for adding some creative touches. I added fresh flowers to 5 coconut cups to place in between my Moana themed centerpieces.
For the Moana themed centerpieces, I just purchased a digital file from Etsy and used my Cricut to cut the images. You can also just cut them out with a scissors. I purchased small foam balls from the Dollar Tree and placed them inside the coconut cups. Then I stuck a wooden dowel in the foam ball and attached the cut images with glue dots. I added confetti to cover the foam ball and add a fun flair. I placed these leaves from this flower pack I purchased to go along with the theme.
For another added touch, I placed sea shells all over the table in between the centerpieces.
Dessert Table
For the dessert table, I used one of the tablecloths I purchased. Regarding the food, I had cupcakes, cookies and of course, cake! I had some left over flowers from my fresh flower bouquets, so I added them to a bright pink vase. I also purchased this awesome Moana backdrop, which not only made a statement, but tied everything together. I ordered this Hawaiian grass table skirt, that I originally intended to string around the dessert table, but I ended up using it for the food table. We had a Moana doll so I added her to the table for fun😊. Don’t forget, you will need dessert plates and dessert napkins here as well!
Favor Table
For the favor table, again I used a tablecloth that I purchased. For each individual favor I purchased these Moana cups. I then added these Moana Play Packs to fill in the cups. I also ordered this Moana favor pack and equally divided the items into the cups. Top that off with some candy and that completes the Moana favors!
Extras
No party is complete without a Happy Birthday Banner. I kept it simple this time and just ordered this Moana Happy Birthday Banner.
I also added Moana balloons and happy birthday balloons and placed them on the chairs to the table. The birthday girl wore this Moana costume, which was simply adorable!
I purchased a fun candle and additional silverware for the table settings to complete the list of party items needed to plan this party.
Food
We kept it simple and just ordered pizza and appetizers. I had juice boxes, lemonade, water and every variation of pop.
Summary
That’s a wrap for the Moana birthday party. We had Moana music playing the whole time in the background and a bubble machine for the kids to dance in to really feel the vibe😊. Another party in the books!
